On the border of the Central African Republic (CAR), Fulani women are tending to a garden, a work initiated by CEFA, an agricultural center and training farm focused on improving food security in the CAR. CEFA is supported by sharing the harvest through Covenant world relief and their partner Growing Hope Globally (formerly Foods Resource Bank). Their work on this garden will mean they will be able to raise their own food to eat and possibly to sell to meet other needs. Care for refugees also means empowering them where they are. And Immanuel can be a part of that work.
For the last several years, churches in the Pacific Northwest Conference have been sharing through a ministry called Sharing the Harvest (STH). STH sells apples donated by yakima growers to participating PacNW churches and all those resources go to CEFA. You can sign up to be a part of this simple, effective, and fun ministry simply by buying a bag of $10 apples -- or better yet, help pack the hundreds of bags of apples sold to churches! Packing day is family friendly and happening on Saturday, October 26th at Wiley Heights Covenant Church in Yakima (12504 Gilbert Road, Yakima). As a thanks, you are invited to an incredible master BBQ lunch that day!
